Welcome to Girded with Truth
Former Roman Catholic who searched for the Truth according to the word of God by searching the Scriptures within the Bible.
My name is Karen, a former Roman Catholic [from the cradle] who searched for the truth; drawn to the well of salvation in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Today, here I stand, boldly, defending and earnestly contending for the truth (Jude 1:3) according to the pure word of God (Proverbs 30:4-6) with witness and testimony of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Having “come out from amongst them” in light of and in obedience to scripture, I embarked upon research of “Charismatic Chaos” and “Word of Faith” movement, and the seducing spirit of deception thereof.
Furthermore, I enrolled at Bible College, alongside my husband, in order to “unlearn” error and learn the truth of the word of God, thereby, studying to show myself approved with scripture, the whole counsel of God. Rightly dividing the Word of God is imperative.
Regardless of my parents having forsaken me (Psalm 27:10), with true love and forgiveness in my heart, I earnestly explained the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ being the only way, the only truth, and the only life. No-one can come to the one and only God the Father in heaven except through His Son Jesus Christ, who is the one and only mediator.
The Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6)
The bedrock of my Christian walk as a true believer in and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is Matthew 5:3-20 and Matthew 6:9-14 and Romans 8:28, and Romans 1:16.
The Lord Jesus Christ said, “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14-15).
Truly, I have forgiven all who have hurt me.
Broken by almighty sovereign God, with a contrite heart of repentance, I truly declare: Jesus is the way, and the truth, and the life (John 14:5-6).
The penultimate book of the Bible is Jude, wherein the author identifies himself as Jude, the “brother of James” (Jude 1:1). Jude had intended to write a treatise on salvation, whereupon he was led to write the New Testament’s strongest condemnation of false teachers.
Thereby, Jude beseeches “to those who are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ,” entreating them to “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.” (Jude 1:3) Furthermore, he warned believers that “certain persons have crept in unnoticed.” (Jude 1:4)
Today, we find these certain persons to be among us everywhere. Indeed, false teachers’ books are prominently featured in Christian book stores – as proclaimed in their ministry church base and on the web. The false teachers travel the world to attend numerous like-minded conferences and events. Last, but not least, proliferating false teachers and false prophets make use of Christian TV channels and digital media.
The Lord Jesus Christ warned; “beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:15-16).
Therefore, as true believers and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is imperitive that we check the fruits of all who proclaim to be teaching and preaching the message of truth according to the word of God, the Bible.
We ought to be Bereans – the apostle Paul escapes from the unbelieving Jews in Thessalonica, and is taken by night into Berea. Afterwards, he enters a synagogue of the Jews in Berea. “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11)
Therefore, a Berean searches the scriptures to verify whether the things he has been taught are scriptural and hold fast to sound doctrine of Biblical truth. In view of Acts 17:11, is a believer, follower of Christ alone, who allows the scriptures, rightly divided, to be the final authority. A true Berean will not accept any teaching that has no scriptural foundation.
The Berean believer, as a ‘watchman on the wall’ ought to stand firm in the truth of scripture rightly divided and ‘sound the trumpet’ with regard to “unfruitful deeds of darkness.” (Ephesians 5:11) whilst shining a light on the truth of the pure word of God, and as such, I do so, unashamedly.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

1 Thessalonians 5:21
“Prove all things, hold fast that which is good”
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Rock on which I stand fast: “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” (Psalm 40:2)
“He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.” (Psalm 62:2)
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield
unto them that put their trust in him.“
Psalm 25:5 | Romans 1:16
The Lord Jesus Christ said: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matthew 22:37-38)
“O think of death! O think of judgment! Yet a little while and time shall be no more. And then what will become of you, if the Lord be not your righteousness?”
