The Bereans received the word with readiness and searched, examined, the scriptures daily. Acts 17:11.
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

We are to eagerly learn from God’s Word and, no matter who the teacher is, past or present, to investigate all teaching in direct comparison with the Bible. Search the scriptures earnestly to discern and decide as to whether what we hear or read is so. We are without excuse.
Prove all by the Word of God; measure all by the measure of the Bible; compare all with the standard of the Bible; weigh all in the balances of the Bible; examine all by the light of the Bible; test all in the crucible of the Bible.
